WHY I CREATED THIS KIT

I've lived outside the United States, on and off, for 20 years. This is the information I wish I'd had from the beginning.

The idea came from something I kept seeing in Facebook expat groups: posts asking for help finding someone's next of kin after they had died abroad.

I kept thinking about the family who hadn't been reached and the people trying to help. Who should they call? Where were the important documents? Were there children, dependent relatives or pets who needed care?

This kit is a planning resource. Its worksheets do not create executed legal documents, grant authority or establish medical orders. Obtain the valid documents, signatures and clinician orders required for your situation and destination. Professional legal or medical review of the kit is not represented.

Enter blood type only from a confirmed medical record; otherwise write UNKNOWN. Information on a wallet card does not replace clinical assessment or transfusion safety checks.

Directory entries are research starting points. Confirm current requirements, contact details, available services and eligibility with the responsible authority or provider.

Technology equipment and subscriptions are separate. The U.S. Connection Setup Guide does not guarantee that an employer or another party cannot identify your physical location.

Once access to the digital files has been provided, purchases are generally final. We do not offer refunds for a change of mind or because you no longer need the kit, except where required by applicable law.
