TCKs DEBRIEFING PROGRAM
Welcome to the Re-entry Experts TCKs Debriefing Program
If you’re holding this, chances are you serve Third Culture Kids through a church, organization, or another community, and you’ve begun to notice the complexity they carry. Many of these children are “coming home” after living cross-culturally for most, if not all, of their lives. What looks like a return is often something far more layered.
For Third Culture Kids (TCKs), re-entry can feel disorienting, unexpected, and at times, deeply lonely.
We created the Re-entry Experts TCKs Debriefing Program because we recognized something was missing: trauma-informed care for children in the re-entry space.
For years, we walked alongside adults returning from serving in what they might have felt was meaningful, often sacrificial work. When it was time to return, some were given some logistical support, but very little intentional care for their internal world. Grief went unnamed. Identity questions went unprocessed. Stories, both beautiful and painful, remained unshared. Many were expected to “just adjust,” without the tools, language, or safe space to do so.
And often, the assumption followed: children are resilient—they’ll be fine.
But what we’ve seen tells a different story.
Re-entry is not just a transition; it is a significant life event. And for children, who are still forming their sense of identity, belonging, and safety in the world, it carries a unique weight. Without space to process, what is unspoken doesn’t disappear—it simply goes underground.
This program exists to change that.
Here, you will find a structured and compassionate pathway designed to help children and adolescents slow down and make sense of their re-entry experience in age-appropriate ways. Through reflective exercises and trauma-informed practices, this program creates space to:
- Address emotional, relational, identity, spiritual, and practical aspects of re-entry
- Give language to experiences that may feel confusing or overwhelming
- Honor each child’s story at their own pace and developmental stage
- Foster connection, safety, and a sense of belonging
This program is designed to equip you to meet them where they are—with curiosity, respect, and care.
Our mission is simple: no one should have to navigate re-entry alone.
Thank you for stepping into this gap for TCKs.
