One good turn deserves another! Earlier this year I designed the Diego cardigan with a dramatic, all-over cabled back, knit in Julie Asselin’s Nurtured yarn—and I just couldn’t leave well enough alone.
Lunita brings those cables and yarn together again in a slouchy beanie that’s as warm as it is stylish. A tubular cast on creates a neat, flexible brim (no hat head!), and all over cables make a durable, wind-resistant fabric. Top it with a fluffy faux fur pom-pom for some extra flair!
Note: this pattern is charted only
Sizes: S (M, L); finished circumference 19 1/2 (22, 24 1/2)”/51 (56, 61) cm; hat is designed to have a loose, slouchy fit
Gauge: 20 sts and 28 rnds = 4”/10 cm in Chart I pattern, worked in the rnd and blocked
Yarn: Julie Asselin Nurtured, 100% fine wool, 130 yd/2 oz (118 m/56 g): 2 skeins in Leaf Pile
Or approx. 150 (175, 225) yd/140 (160, 205) m worsted weight yarn
Suggested needles: US 8/5 mm 16”/40 cm circular needle and DPNs
US 7/4.5 mm 16”/40 cm circular needle
