A bright matching pincushion and lined needle case using stranded knitting techniques.

Named in honour of my mother who taught me to both knit and sew. The reversal of colours on the pincushion reflects the fact that she likes to change her mind!

This pattern was first published in the Quick Knits Supplement of Knit Now Issue 108 in October 2019.

Suggested Yarn: Gwlan Cambrian Wool DK (100% wool, 100m/50g); A: Mineral, 1 ball, (approx. 40m), B: Shale, 1 ball, (approx. 50m), C: Hafan, 1 ball, (approx. 25m)

Originally worked in 100% acrylic DK kit yarn (Blue, black and orange pics). (Yarn usage A: 16m and 22m, B: 16m and 32m, C: 24m)

Needles: 3mm (US 2.5), straight, 30cm or circular, 40cm AND 3.5mm (US 4), straight, 30cm or circular, 40cm

Notions: Stuffing, 2 pieces of felt, 20.5 x 9cm, Sewing needle, Sewing thread to match Yarn A, Tapestry needle

Tension: 10cm = 25 (25) sts x 28 (36) rows over stranded patt (st st) on larger (smaller) needles.

Finished Measurements:
Pincushion: Blocking measurements: 11.5 x 20cm (10.5 x 9.5 x 4.5cm after stuffing)
Needle case: 25 x 11.5cm when open
