Program Note:
This short piece marks the beginning of a series of works I intend to write for quartets or ensembles of identical instruments. It is ideal for young and developing chamber groups within a flute class, or as part of a larger ensemble, thanks to its simple and vertical writing.
The first movement, Poem, explores a soft and delicate sonority.
The following Danse evokes the sound of a small hand-cranked organ — a playful, continuous motion that never seems to stop turning.
This piece can be performed as part of a flute ensemble concert or used pedagogically in chamber music training contexts.
