Pumpkin Patch Colour Match

Who knew pumpkins could make colour matching THIS much fun?!
Little hands. Colourful vines. Big learning!
Set Includes:
11 x coloured pumpkin, in colours, red, blue, yellow, green, orange, purple, pink, white, brown, grey and black.
We turned colourful pipe cleaners into pumpkin vines and challenged our little learners to match each vine to the pumpkin of the same colour.

A simple activity with SO much learning packed in!
What are we learning?
Colour recognition and matching.
Fine motor skills as little fingers untangle the pipe cleaners in the basket.
Problem-solving and visual discrimination.
Language development as we name and describe each colour.
Exploring the parts of a pumpkin, from its colourful skin to its colourful vine!
Want to try this at home or in your early learning setting?
Gather colourful pumpkins or pumpkin pictures.
Cut pipe cleaners into manageable lengths to create your vines.
Twist pipe cleaner around a pencil to create a spiral.
Invite children to match the coloured vine to the same coloured pumpkin
Talk about real pumpkin parts, including the stem, skin, seeds and vines.
Learning tip: Let children experiment, make choices and correct their own matches. The process is just as important as getting the answer right!
