Through The Work Glass

Alice didn’t mean to fall through the mirror. She only wanted to check the time.

But the mirror in the breakroom wasn’t like the others. It was older, crooked, its glass clouded with the breath of a thousand hurried glances. Beneath it, in flaking gold, ran a question that made no sense: 

“What time is it for?”

She touched it and the world unspooled.

What followed wasn’t a lesson. Not a framework. Not another manifesto about agility, purpose, or disruption.

It was a journey.

Through a courtyard where clocks ticked in frantic unison, yet no one knew why.

Through a carousel where nothing was waste, only matter waiting to become something else.

Through fog so thick it held the ghosts of peoples’ titles long outgrown.

Through a race where everyone ran, but no one knew the finish line.

And finally, to a tea table where even the Algorithm learned to listen.

This is not a story about fixing work.

It’s about remembering what work could be when it’s not a cost to manage, but a living process to steward. When ethics aren’t a trade‑off, but the very soil from which resilience grows. When belonging isn’t soft, it’s the strongest infrastructure there is.
