The Murder at Bliss Chalet
By Debie Douglas Nantz
Set in modern day Virginia, ‘The Murder at Bliss Chalet’ follows the lives of Laurie and Paul Davis, along with their friends, family, lovers, and ex-husbands.
Café owner Laurie Davis, married only a few years to mountain resort ‘Bliss Chalet’ owner Paul Davis, has to contend with her ex-husband Phillip’s rude personality, his out of work backwoods siblings, and infuriated financial partners. Sara, their teenage daughter, loves her father, but even she is getting tired of his constant rants and tirades. To complicate things is a second ex-wife Camila, of whom is Laurie's best friend, and Phillip moving his daughter’s friend in to live with him, to the dismay and irritation of the girl’s jealous ex.
With most of the town in attendance, an elegant birthday party for Camila’s boyfriend at ‘Bliss Chalet’ ends in murder. Fingers of guilt begin pointing in every direction and questionable characters appear everywhere. A series of suspicious accidents and occurrences convince Laurie and Camila to investigate on their own to try to uncover the killer's identity, only to find that they too are being targeted for the next murder in the executioner’s suspenseful cat and mouse game.
