PAYF Hand Embroidered Wool Felt Oak Leaf Brooch - Rainbow

Handmade from recycled felt and hand embroidered. Oak leaf brooch with rainbow detail. One of a kind.

I make these little brooches from washed up wool jumpers, cutting and shaping them to look like oak leaves, and embellishing them with hand embroidery. They are an evening meditation, and I find the slow stitching and organic way the patterns form very soothing. 

They are backed with felt or cotton, and have a brooch pin sewn in.  

Size approx 11cm by 7cm

All the materials I use in making these little brooches is reclaimed/recycled with the exception of the brooch pins, which I buy new. I feel that it is so important to make use of the resources we already have when creating, and rarely buy new threads, instead collecting leftovers from friends, and buying up second hand threads at charity shops and local markets.
