This simple, squishy garter stitch shawl makes perfect TV/travel knitting, and has plenty of scope for playing with colour - keep it simple or mix it up. It is also great for using up scraps of leftover yarn, as the stripes require only tiny quantities.

(80% superwash extrafine merino / 10% cashmere / 10% nylon) (350m/380yds per 100g skein)
MC - Steel 2 x 100g skeins

Note the shawl uses approximately 150g (520m / 567 yds) and approximately 3g (12m / 13yds) of each contrast colour.
