The Wayfarer Hat is a companion piece to the Passport Mitts. An asymmetrical addition to your fall and winter wardrobe, it is fun to knit and stylish to wear. Can be made in original beanie fit or slouchier, relaxed fit.
Skills Needed: Cable Cast-On, working in the round, knitting through the back loop, cables, k2tog, p2tog.

Yarn: Approximately 200 (200, 250, 300) yds. [183 (183, 229, 274) meters] Malabrigo Arroyo (Sport/
5 ply, 100% Merino, 335 yard/100 grams), shown in Lavanda.
Needles: Circular needles: 16 in. [40 cm] US Size 2 [2.75 mm] and US Size 3 [3.25 mm], and double pointed needles: US Size 3 [3.25 mm], or size needed to obtain gauge.
To achieve relaxed fit, increase needle size for body of hat and add at least one extra repeat of rounds 1-6 of body of hat (see pattern notes).
Gauge: 27 sts and 44 rows = 4" [10 cm] in pattern stitch on larger needles. Gauge is after wet blocking and drying flat.
Other Materials: Cable needle, stitch markers, tapestry needle.
