Stradbally

Big winds and waves have transformed the Irish Brandon Bay into one of Europe’s premier kitesurfing destinations. Stradbally is one of the towns at the bay.

Inspired by the place, this hat is rustic and soft at the same time. It’s worked in half fisherman’s rib with the thick plain-knitted ribs giving way to three waves.

This one-skein hat is worked bottom-up. Starting with a provisional tubular cast-on and (k1, p1) ribbing, the stitch pattern switches to half fisherman’s rib with reliefs formed by cabling.

The pattern showcases not only semi-solids but also variegated one-of-a-kind yarns.

• 1 x 100 g skein in Narin Beach

Starker Wind und grosse Wellen haben die irische “Brandon Bucht” zu einem der führenden Kitesurf-Destination Europas verwandelt. Stradbally ist eine der Ortschaften entlang der Bucht.

Inspiriert durch den Ort, ist diese Mütze rustikal und weich zugleich. Die Stradbally-Mütze wird in Halbpatent gearbeitet. Die dicken, gestrickten Rippen machen Platz für drei Wellen.

Die Mütze wird von unten nach oben gearbeitet. Gestartet wird mit dem runden Anschlag mit Hilfsfaden und einem Rippenmuster, das in ein Halbpatent mit Wellen übergeht, welche durch Zöpfe geformt werden.

Das Muster zeigt nicht nur unifarbene, sondern auch bunte, einmalige Garne.
