The Original Good Samaritan Band

The 'Original Good Samaritan Band' was the house band for the Good Samaritan Coffeehouse in Orlando Florida which opened in 1980. It was a Christian rock-style band and Craig Marlatt and Sandy Pfeiffer wrote the original music they played there along with some of the contemporary Christian music of the day and traditional praise and worship music which Craig arranged the songs to suit the more up-tempo rock/folk style of the band.

The tunes on this album were first recorded in 1980 at Central Sound Studios in Auburndale, Florida, but Sandy eventually left the band to become a law enforcement officer in his home state of Louisiana. Since most of the songs on the recordings were of songs written by Sandy, Craig gave him the tapes so he could release his own CD if he chose to do so. It wasn't until 2000 that Sandy came to visit Craig in Orlando and he gave Craig the tapes that he had never recorded and Craig put them out as a CD.
