Guitar hacks for your playing, not your gear.

Most of what gets called a guitar hack is about equipment: faster string changes, fretboard cleaning, tricks with a capo. None of it makes you a better player. This bundle is about playing: 150 short, practical shortcuts for chords, scales, soloing, technique and practice, across all three Guitar Hacks books.

Each hack is a shortcut, a reframe or a mistake to avoid. Most take five minutes to read. None of them need new gear.

What's in the bundle:

  • 50 Guitar Hacks for the Thinking Man's Guitarist. Chords, scales, modes, improvising, tone and practice, for anyone past the beginner stage who wants to think more clearly about the instrument.
  • 50 More Guitar Hacks for the Thinking Man's Guitarist. Blues soloing, muting, barre chords, riffs and playing live, for players who keep running into the same problems.
  • 50 Guitar Hacks for the Advancing Guitarist. Triad superimposition, chord-tone soloing, sweep picking and playing over changes, for players stuck on the intermediate plateau.

The tenth anniversary editions: the series first came out in 2016. For these editions every hack has been rewritten and the weak ones replaced. Every diagram has been redrawn with interval labels, so you can see what each note is doing and not just where it is. Every hack ends with a short exercise to try. Where I got something wrong the first time, the text says so and puts it right.

What you get: three PDFs, 8 x 10 inches, 354 pages in all, with clickable contents and print-quality diagrams. Read them on any screen or print the pages you're working on.

$24.99 for all three, instead of $29.97 separately.

Each book stands on its own, with no set order inside it. If you're not sure where to start, start with the first.
