This shawl was inspired by a page from Mahler’s Fourth Symphony, where the score created beautiful visual patterns as well as a wonderful sound. The page was from the codetta of the third movement, hence the name. The border uses an old stitch called ‘shower stitch’.

This pattern was first published in Knit Now, Issue 26, September 2013.
