Korra - PDF knitting pattern

Korra is named for the avatar in the Season 2 of the Avatar. As the avatar, Korra's role is to maintain balance, and so this Hat not only features aspects of each of the Elemental Hats but also provides a chance to create your own version, all the while being mindful of the balance within the fabric.

Featuring short row colourwork, each of the Elemental Hats is knit sideways and grafted. The pattern is provided as a map for the short rows - a directional chart - that will help guide you through the pattern.

Yarn A: 140yd/128m; Yarn B: 140yd/128m
61yd/56m for a 6x6in/15x15cm swatch in Garter St
DK weight, plied yarn

Needles & Notions

Pair 3.25mm [3.5mm] straight needles or size needed to obtain gauge
3.25mm crochet hook
Approx. 3yd/3m waste yarn

Note

Sizing in this pattern is achieved through gauge. The sideways nature of this design creates a great deal of stretch, so do consider the negative ease.

Gauge: 24 sts x 48 rows to 4in/10cm over Garter St:

To fit size: 22in/56cm; use 3.5mm needles
Gauge: 22 sts x 44 rows to 4in/10cm over Garter St:
