THIS IS A DIGITAL PATTERN FILE, NOT THE ACTUAL KNITTED PIECE!
Go stash-diving in your DK-weight yarns, and create the 70’s shawl of your dreams. With a super-wearable crescent shape (and my own hack for getting the top edge to lay flatter than some crescent shawls do), a mix of two complementary speckled colorways, and fringe for days, you’ll be happily wrapping yourself in this shawl before you can binge-watch a season of your favorite show.
YARN
approximately 405 yards/370 m DK-weight yarn. I used Hedgehog Fibres Merino DK in Bollywood (cA, 205 yards/187.5 m) and Zephyr (cB, 200 yards/183m).
You will also need approximately 50 yards/46 m for the fringe. If you’re adding two-color fringe, approximately 25 yards/23 m of each color.
FINISHED MEASUREMENTS
65”/165 cm wingspan, 14”/35 cm deep at center, measured after blocking and not measuring fringe.
I wrote a blog post, with images, explaining how to create the fringe tassels, so if you’re a more visual person,
check it out.
