The influence of environmental factors on the choice of career among secondary school students in Ilesa west local Government area of Osun-State.

ABSTRACT
The study is examining the influence of environmental factors on the choice of career among secondary school students in Ilesa west local Government area of Osun-State. The studies employ descriptive design. Twenty students were randomly selected in each of the five selected secondary schools making a total of one hundred students for the study. The researcher employed chi square statistical tools for the analysis of the data collected. The findings revealed that socio-economic status of parent, family background, and society valued jobs influenced students choice of career. It was also revealed that custom and belief of people do not have impact on students choice of career. Necessary recommendations were made.
