5.0 out of 5 stars Like Your Own Private Social Media Consultant.
By Perk
This is a stream-lined manual for the budding netrepreneur dealing primarily with the Big 3, but covering all aspects of social media. As the author of the "Shark Fin Dictionary" I felt Mr. O'Bryan was speaking directly to me, author to author, to help me set and achieve my social media goals. This book is ALL about setting goals and having a plan! Also warns about the dark side of social media addiction. It's nice to see Laurence O'Bryan showing off what he does when he's not writing the Puzzle series.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good overview for those developing a "dedicated" social media marketing plan
By Charlsie
'm a self-published author of fiction in the process of building a specific social media plan (and I'll readily admit I haven't figured out the "specifics" yet), hence my investment in "Social Media is Dynamite". Because there is only me juggling writing, publishing, and marketing most of the book's overview of social media marketing does not apply to my case, and until I reached chapter 7 the book was beyond my objectives (or I should say the "scope of my resources"). It was in chapter 7 (more in appendix 1) that Mr. O'Bryan delved into the specific platforms with which I'm becoming more comfortable--and the tools/links given in appendix 1 will be quite valuable. I do think the book needs to be updated to include Google+. That's the problem with technology--it's moving almost faster than many of us laymen (and women) can adjust for.
I enjoyed the book--I did read the whole thing despite most of it not being relative to my case--one always gleans something from that shared knowledge.

5.0 out of 5 stars Learned a lot
By Walt Pimbley
This inexpensive book is great, even if you knew nothing about Twitter, Facebook, and the others five minutes ago. Explains the basics, and it points you to apps that make it all easier.
It also lays out basic and more refined strategies for expanding your influence and using it to market. Marketing's good! It's the only thing that creates wealth and lifts from poverty.
Selling a book? Music? Art? Check it out, you won't be sorry.
