Photos from Chania city, Crete island, Greece
Chania is a municipality located along the northwest coast of the island of Crete, in Greece, with a population of over 100,000 inhabitants. It is a wonderful holiday destination, with a charming old town and a medieval Venetian port.
The port was built by the Venetians for 300 years, beginning in 1320. To the east was the dock used for building and repairing ships, and to the west was the dock for unloading goods.
Today, the port is the main attraction of Chania, with its old buildings from different eras and its bars, restaurants and cafes.
