Lesson 90 - The Plundering of Egypt
God reveals to Moses the exact trajectory of what lies ahead: Pharaoh will be obstinate and refuse to let Israel
go unless compelled by a mighty hand. God promises that He will stretch out His hand, strike Egypt with
wonders, and when the Israelites finally leave, they will not go empty-handed. Every woman will ask her
Egyptian neighbors for silver, gold, and clothing, effectively plundering the empire that enslaved them for
centuries. God ensures that justice is done and hundreds of years of unpaid slave labor are compensated in a
single night of sovereign victory.
