Leander - Siren Song

Leander Virelle, Captain of the Night Sovereign, couldn't believe his luck when he found a siren washed up and broken along the Pale Coast and did what he’s always done with rare, dangerous things: chained it down and stripped it for profit.

To him, a siren is a creature worth more alive than dead. He tells himself it’s business. Survival. No different from ransom, raiding, or carving another merchant vessel open beneath black sails.

But the sea rots everything eventually.... even iron, even men like him. And somewhere between the cruelty and the silence, something begins to take root. Something he can’t cut out, can’t sell, and can’t tell if it’s real or just another way the sea kills men foolish enough to get too close to beautiful things.
