HEAVEN – In Earth As It Is In Heaven by Bro H

Verse 1 Search the Law and the Prophets. Search the Psalms and the words of Christ. Search every letter of the apostles And every vision John received. Read every Hebrew shamayim, Every Greek use of ouranos. Not one prophet, not one apostle, Not one word from Jesus Christ Sends the righteous dead to heaven Or names the heavens as their home. Heaven is the governing height From which God rules the earth below. Verse 2 From heaven God looks upon the earth. From heaven He spoke His law at Sinai. Solomon prayed, “Hear from heaven, Forgive our sin and heal the land.” Rain came through the windows; Manna came through the doors. The dew descended, the fire fell, The Spirit came down at Pentecost. Three times John saw the holy city Coming down from God out of heaven. Down, down, down—always earthward— Every gift and verdict lands here. Chorus The heavens are the LORD’s; The earth He gave to men. The meek inherit earth; The King is coming back again. The bread came down, the Spirit came down, The city will come down. “Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done In earth, as it is in heaven.” Verse 3 The kingdom of heaven is not heaven. Jesus said it suffers violence, And violent men seize it by force. John, its herald, lay bound in Herod’s prison— An earthly ruler striking The earthly reign of God. The kingdom is of heaven In origin, authority, character, and law; But its people, land, throne, and rule Are here beneath the stars. The reward is held in heaven— But the King declares, “I am coming, And My reward is with Me.” Verse 4 The pulpit says the righteous dead Have already gone to heaven. Hebrews says the patriarchs died in faith Without receiving what was promised. They are waiting with us, For without us they will not be perfected. Peter said David was dead and buried: “David did not ascend into heaven.” The dead sleep and rest from their labors, They wait with us for resurrection. Abraham sought the city God would build While sojourning in the land He promised. Chorus The heavens are the LORD’s; The earth He gave to men. The meek inherit earth; The King is coming back again. The bread came down, the Spirit came down, The city will come down. “Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done In earth, as it is in heaven.” Spoken Bridge The upward doctrine came from the minds of men. Plato separated the soul from the body. The Gnostics made salvation an escape from creation. Justin Martyr rejected men who taught both: No resurrection of the dead, And souls taken into heaven at death. He said such men should not be called Christians. Cyprian turned it into plague-time comfort. Medieval teachers gave heaven an address. Westminster codified it in sixteen-forty-six. Then tradition handed it down As though Moses wrote it And Jesus preached it. They did not. Verse 5 The living are not secretly removed. God’s people were still inside Babylon When the voice from heaven commanded, “Come out of her, My people.” Harpadzo—the so-called rapture word— Describes violent men seizing the kingdom In Matthew eleven, twelve. At the ascension the angels said, “This same Jesus will return In the same way you watched Him go.” Paul said, “The Lord Himself will descend.” The dead rise; the living are joined with them. Together they welcome the returning King And reign with Him upon the earth. Verse 6 Christ receives the throne of His father David; His government and peace increase without end. Daniel’s stone becomes a mountain And fills the whole earth. Ezekiel saw the waters deepen, Bringing life wherever the river flowed. God placed His Word in Israel’s mouth To plant the heavens And lay the foundations of the earth. Then New Jerusalem comes down. “The dwelling of God is with men.” Not men going to the dwelling— The dwelling of God coming to men. Final Chorus The heavens are the LORD’s; The earth He gave to men. The meek inherit earth; The King is coming back again. The bread came down, the Spirit came down, The city will come down. “Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done In earth, as it is in heaven.” Spoken Outro The kingdom is not in the sky. It descends from on high. It grows here. It reigns here. It lands here. On the earth.
