Stranger Things LUTs

I've always been obsessed with that 80's, retro nostalgic vibe: the music, movies, style etc. So when Stranger Things first came out I was hooked instantly. And being a cinematographer I appreciated everything about it, most importantly the beautiful color grading. I searched and searched for a LUT or tutorial that could give me that same vintage look, but I never found what I wanted. So I made my own.

I've created 7 top-quality LUTs that you can use on your videos to give you that signature Stranger Things look! They each have a different feel and mood, so mix and match to find what you like.

 
Important: I shoot in Cine4 picture profile, but these LUTs work on S-Log as well, just add contrast to your taste after applying the LUT.

 
Bitchin’ is for a punk, faded and de-saturated look on all footage, day or night.

Hawkins is for a warm, bright look with a focus on skin tones. It’s mainly for outside sunny footage.

Mad Max is another bright LUT that gives a more vintage look than Hawkins. It works well outside or inside and really separates your subject from the background.

Maple Street is an all purpose LUT with the most modern feel. Works on all footage, in all lighting.

Palace Arcade is a night-time LUT that turns city lights and neon signs retro af while keeping skin tones on point.

Snow Ball is an inside or outside LUT that gives your footage a “winter wonderland” vibe. Works best on cloudy days.

Upside Down is true to it’s name and turns any footage into a faded green and blue dystopia. This is the most experimental so use with caution.
