The Transfiguration Made Simple

On a high mountain apart, Jesus was transfigured before Peter, James, and John: His face shone as the sun, His garments were white as the light, Moses and Elijah appeared talking with Him, and the Father spoke from the bright cloud -- "This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him" (Matthew 17:1-8).

The Transfiguration Made Simple is a Bible-first walk through that holy mountain and everything it changes: the shining face, the Law and the Prophets bearing witness, Peter's tabernacles, the Father's voice, the "Jesus only" that remained when the cloud lifted, Peter's eyewitness testimony (2 Peter 1:16-18), the more sure word of prophecy, the descent into the valley, and the promise -- "we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is" (1 John 3:2).

Eleven devotional chapters, each with Scripture, reflection, application, and prayer. Explicitly Trinitarian: the Father who spoke from the cloud, Jesus Christ -- Son of God and Son of Man, Lord and Savior -- whose glory lit the mountain, and the Holy Spirit who transfigures believers from glory to glory. Every prayer is to the Father, through Jesus Christ, by the Holy Spirit.

Read one chapter a day. Look up. Climb slowly. Listen carefully.
