Synopsis

Jessica Campbell, the last of the Joyful, Virginia Campbells, inherits the rundown family estate nestled in the bucolic countryside of horse farms and wineries.

Burdened with the crippling costs of upkeep, neighboring estates have already sold to property developers and land speculators but Jessica vows to keep her ancestral home intact. Aided by both her very opinionated cat and her best friend forever, she hatches a plan that transforms the faded manor house into a money making bed and breakfast inn to keep the estate a float.

By chance, a famous (and very attractive) antique appraiser due for a much needed break from his grueling work schedule, comes to the inn for a weekend stay. Instead of relaxing, his passion for antiques draws him right back into the thick of his work when he is served breakfast on old, delicate china that he senses is alive with a deep, dark secret it’s dying to tell.

Plunged into a web of discovery, he uncovers the secret of the antique china as one of huge historical significance. Jessica’s china, which she so cavalierly uses at the inn, had belonged to Dolley Madison and was saved from destruction the night The White House was burned during The War of 1812.

Learning of the importance and value of the china, Jessica wrestles with the choice of securing the future of the family estate by selling her china to a collector for a huge sum of money or donating the national treasure to The White House for only a small honorarium. What will she do?
