The Tabby Toe is a modification of the Pontoon Toe by the amazing Cat Bordhi, detailed in New Pathways for Sock Knitters, Book One. The basic shape of the Tabby Toe is the same, but with a different knitting technique (plus several tips and photos). After iterating through several changes to better suit myself, I want to share the Tabby Toe with other toe up sock fans.

FAQ
Why should I knit a Tabby Toe? Because it makes an excellent toe box! No nubby ears transitioning from the cast on to the increase stitches.
I do two at a time socks, can I cast on two toes at the same time? Cast on the toe boxes on separately, then join socks for increases.
This is my first sock toe cast on? Try a traditional wedge toe first (VeryPink Knits video). Then come back for a future sock.
Wait, what is a wedge toe? A toe where you provisionally cast on stitches and start knitting in the round immediately with increases at each side of the toe.
