If you ever visit Kinshasa, the capital city of Congo DRC, you cannot miss Le Marché des Artistes (The Artists’ Market), a chaotic and fascinating place where the best of Congolese art and craftsmanship is gathered. Among wooden statues, malachite artifacts, and brightly colored oil paintings, you will find masks and other handmade pieces decorated with geometric motifs typical of the equatorial tribes.
Freely inspired by those decorative motifs and reworking and combining them in a very personal way, I created this design with a modern and casual charm, the style of garment I love to design and wear.
The yarn used is a precious blend of merino, yak and silk from Fru Valborg, a real pleasure to knit and a treat to wear; it adds a touch of preciousness to the sweater.

Afraid of trying colorwork? This sweater is an interesting knit that “cheats” on colorwork, using only slipped stitch techniques to achieve a beautiful final effect that mimics stranded knitting. Here, you only work one colour per row.
Knitted from the top down, to allow you to try it as you go, this circular yoke sweater is worked in four colors and will keep you interested and engaged until the end!
The beautiful yarn from Fru Valborg adds a silky and shiny effect and a super soft touch!
