If I say “no” to who I am today, it does not mean I do not like her.
It only means that I trust her to be able to do better.
I turned 30 on the 2nd day of November of 2019, and it was on that day I sat down in a coffee shop in rainy London to write the first chapter of Growing into Better.
My first book series of essays was going to be my yet-to-be-completed “Does My Feminism Annoy You” collection, but from the outset, I had planned to release that in 2022. I really wanted to take my time in letting my views evolve and lead readers through that process.
But as I sat in that café nibbling away at my usual almond croissant and cup of mocha, I knew I wanted to tell a story of experiences and life lessons that have led me up to this point. I do not have it all figured out, and that is why the title of this collection is “Growing into Better” and not “Grown into Better.”
As you read these chapters, I hope you connect with a few things. I hope you pick up one thing that will make your journey a little easier.
This is a piece of my heart. Thank you for letting it in.
