No Concession Blues started out as an original tune Eddie Lewis performed with his jazz group at Houston’s Cezanne Jazz Club. The tune expresses Eddie’s dissatisfaction with the political environment in our country today, when everyone is determined to NOT get along. The tune went over well at the jazz club and he quickly turned it into this trumpet quartet.

The funny thing about No Concession Blues is that it’s not a blues at all. It is a slow swing tune written over altered rhythm changes.

No Concession Blues is our best selling trumpet quartet. Apparently a lot of people really like this piece.

The first trumpet part has a high C in the last measure. Other than that, most of the first part is in the staff.
