DESCRIPTION

Salt Tide is a buttoned cardigan with a lace yoke made with yarnovers and twisted stitches, inspired by the textures of the sea and the shore. Knit in fingering-weight yarn, this cardigan is light and airy — perfect for layering over your favorite tops and dresses in the gentle summer breeze.

Salt Tide features a delicate lace pattern on the round yoke that evokes the ebb and flow of the tide. The majority of the cardigan is simple stockinette, letting the intricate lace detailing on the yoke take the center stage. Sleeve cuffs, hem, and button bands are all worked in twisted ribbing.

This fingering-weight cardigan is worked seamlessly in one piece from the top down. Short rows placed at the bottom of the yoke help to create a well-fitting, round neckline whereas waist shaping gives the cardigan a classic hourglass silhouette. The body of the cardigan can also be knit straight, omitting waist shaping. Optional bust darts are recommended for larger bosoms.

Salt Tide comes in 10 sizes from XS to 6X. The pattern is written with both metric and US terminology. Although chart-reading skills are recommended, both written and charted instructions are given for the lace pattern.
