Pollard Hats and Mitts

The cable pattern on this beanie and mitts was inspired by the recently pollarded trees on one of my regular walks in north Kent where I live. I then saw the colour of the this yarn (produced near by) and it was exactly one of the greens I was seeing on my walks too. 

SIZE

Hat to fit head circumference: 52cm 

Mitts to fit hand circumference: 19 cm 

MATERIALS

Longcroft Longwool 100% Wensleydale Wool DK

(approx 75m per 50g) 

3 50g skeins in Throwley (Hat only requires 2 skeins, mitts only 2 skeins)

3.25mm circular needle

1 set 3.25mm double pointed needles if preferred for working with a smaller number of stitches

Stitch markers

TENSION

23 sts and 28 rows to 10cm over stocking stitch using 3.25mm needles in the round.
