These stripey garter stitch mitts feature a slip stitch and cable pattern on the back of the hands. These are small canvas to try this fun technique on. 


The mitts use less than 40g of 4ply in the main colour and 25g of contrast even for the larger size, making them a great stash busting option too. You could the smaller size from the left overs from two pairs of medium socks, for example. It would be fun to see a solid and a variegated yarn combined too.

SIZE

Small 19cm circumference hand [Large 22.5 cm hand]


MATERIALS

Baa Ram Ewe Pip Colourwork, 100% British Wool (116m/25g)

Yarn A: 1 [2] 25g balls in Hebden Water (blue)/Bronte (orange) 

Yarn B: 1 [1] 25g ball in Settle/Viking

2.5mm circular needle or set of double pointed needles

2.75mm circular needle or set of double pointed needles

Cable needle

Darning needle

3 stitch markers (one different for start of round)


TENSION

25 sts and 52 rounds over garter stitch stripes to 10cm worked in the round on 2.75mm needles.
