When monster bounty hunter, Abraham Grim, returns to Manchester to keep a promise she made to her late adoptive father, she never realised it would start by shaking hands with a demon—probably one of the most dangerous things you could do. A demon who also happens to be her new landlord.

When he tells her he’ll forgive the first few months’ rent if she’ll do a welfare check on a client of his, she thinks it will be an easy morning. She should’ve known better.

Before lunchtime, Abe finds a dead body and herself in the middle of a mess which involves both of the city’s werewolf packs, the vampires and the Humane Society, an organisation of humans who hate monsters.

With the help of an abrasive witch, who has her own issues with the local coven, Abe has to uncover the murderer before all parties start accusing each other and the tension in the city boils over into disaster.
