Violin Finger Chart Basic Notes
Finger chart of basic notes on the violin, in the pattern which new players nearly always begin with, where there is a semitone (half step) between fingers 2&3, and tones (whole steps) elsehwere. Notes which have the same letter name as an open string are circled in orange, as the open string will resonate sympathetically if the fingered note is in tune with it. There is also a brief explanation of why violinists usually begin with this pattern, and how it relates to the piano keyboard.
