+++This is a measure and cut pattern which means that there are NO TEMPLATES to print off and match up- Yay! You need a rotary cutter, ruler and mat and you can cut the pattern pieces straight from the fabric. This is easier than it sounds because the pieces are all simple squares and rectangles with minimal shaping required.

The Altona Belt Bag pattern comes with handy print off and cut out labels to help you to keep track of all if the bits and pieces.

All measurements are in INCHES.

This pattern comes with an extra PDF to help you to identify the front pocket pieces. Please note that this is for illustration only and is not to scale. Not all of the components occur in every pattern and it is not specific to this particular pattern. It is only there to help .

Boy oh BOY do I hate the name of those bags (Bum Bags) – and Fanny Pack is not much better! But I think that you get the idea. This is one of those little bags (pouches?) which slings low around the hips and provide secure and hands-free carriage of our essentials. They are great for dog walkers, busy minimalists and pretty much anyone who doesn’t relish toting the kitchen sink. Let’s call it a Belt Bag shall we?
The Altona is a combo bag and purse and it has some built in card slots plus a handy coin pocket so that you really can leave most things at home. I love the extra security that it offers too. It is super easy to hide under your jacket.

Pattern Rating: intermediate sewist with some knowledge assumed. The pattern comes with some printable labels to help you to keep track of the pieces as you cut and there is an extra sheet showing the pieces that go into the making of a pocket. Please note though that it is for illustration purposes only and NOT specific to this pattern. It is just there to give you an idea.

Finished Size: 7” wide x 4 ½” tall x 2” deep

Suggested Fabrics: quilting weight cotton, denim, canvas, furnishing fabrics, linen, needle cord, waxed cotton, oilcloth

Gather these supplies:
Fabric:
12” – 14” strip (depending on width) canvas for the outer. Because of the small size, this is a great time to use a small scale print or a gorgeous solid.
15” strip pure cotton for the lining

Interfacing:
½ yd. foam interfacing. I am using Style-Vil by Vlieseline or By Annie's Soft & Stable
Fat Eighth very light fusible interfacing. My choice this time is G740 by Vlieseline, alternatively, Pellon 860F Ultra Weft.

Everything Else:
46” bias tape for the bound lining. This needs to be approximately 3/8" when folded
10” heavy duty (#5) metal zipper for the top gusset zipper
5” heavy duty (#5) metal zipper for the front zipper pocket
4” nylon or plastic zipper (#3) for the inner zipper box pocket
40 ½” of 1” wide cotton webbing for the waist strap
1” side release buckle
1” tri slider (bag slider)
Scraps of leather or vegan leather for the zipper end tabs.
Clear drying glue suitable for fabric or Fray Stopper
Coordinating threads for all fabrics and trims
Your usual sewing needs including scissors, markers, and extra feet for your sewing machine (zipper foot for example). You know, the usual stuff!

When you buy this pattern, you have my permission to make this bag to sell- no mass production allowed of course but a few to sell at craft fairs or online, that sort of thing is fine. All I ask is that you credit me as the designer. I wish you all the success in the world with sales!
