Composition Book Mitts

Head to the stationery shop, snag a composition book and a six-pack of highlighters, and get ready to go back to school with this two-pattern collection, designed to get you out of summer mode and ready for some serious scholastic endeavors.
One full skein of fingering weight (your composition book) and six mini skeins (your highlighters) are all you need for a cowl (smaller size) and mitts set that will keep you warm all school year.
YARN
approximately 247 (288) yds/270 (315) m total fingering-weight yarn. I used Knitted Wit Victory Sock in Rock Candy Black mc, 165 (192) yds/180 (210) m & a Smarties Sixlet in Highlighter Rainbow (ccA-F, 15 (17.5) yds/13.5 (16) m each).
Here are my Highlighter Rainbow colors; in one mitt, I used them from top to bottom, and in the other, I used them from bottom to top:
Haute Pink
Habañero
Study Hall
Shamrock
Turks and Caicos
Violent Violet
FINISHED MEASUREMENTS
Adult small/medium (large): approximately 10 (11)“/ 25.5 (28) cm tall from cuff to end of hand, 8 (9.25)”/ 20.5 (23.5) cm around at base of fingers. Measured after blocking.
