Lesson_48_Jacobs_Ladder

Jacob is running for his life. He is alone, exhausted, and sleeping on the dirt with a literal rock for a pillow.

But in his darkest, most uncomfortable moment, God shows up. Jacob dreams of a massive stairway (or

ladder) reaching from earth all the way to heaven, with angels going up and down. God stands at the top and

gives Jacob the exact same covenant He gave Abraham! Jacob wakes up terrified and amazed, sets up his

stone pillow as a monument, pours oil on it, and renames the place Bethel ('House of God'). Today, we are

combining Earth Science, Engineering, Math, and Scripture Memory into one powerful day of

state-standard-hitting fun!
