Lesson_58_Laban_Overtakes_Jacob
Laban didn't notice Jacob was gone for three whole days! When he finally found out, he was furious. He
gathered his relatives and chased Jacob for seven straight days, finally catching him in the hill country of
Gilead. Laban fully intended to harm Jacob and take everything back, but God appeared to Laban in a dream
the night before and gave a terrifying warning: 'Be careful not to say anything to Jacob, either good or bad.'
What follows is a heated, explosive argument where Jacob finally stands up for himself after 20 years of
abuse. Ultimately, they build a massive pile of stones (a cairn) called 'Mizpah' as a physical boundary line,
make a peace treaty, and walk away forever. Today, we look at the engineering of stone monuments, the math
of a 7-day chase, and how to de-escalate a massive fight.
