Heather June

In March 2015, as a high school graduation present, my youngest sister asked for a knitted shawl. She wanted something unique, light and feminine. After looking through a few patterns online, I decided that nothing I could find seemed perfectly suited to her, so I sat down, and began designing. I wanted to make something that she could not only wear with her graduation dress, but something she could keep and wear forever with any outfit. I wanted to make something as one-of-a-kind as she is.

I came up with Heather June, a shawl with lace and cables, that would give texture while maintaining the airy feel she was looking for.

This pattern uses Japanese stitch motifs, with Estonian construction and edging designs.

In honour of my sister, I named the design after her.
