Most think sheets are a punishment with a pencil. The kid writes "I'm sorry" and "I won't do it again" and nothing changes. A fix it plan asks a different question: what are you going to do to make it right?

What's included:

• An adult guide on timing and what a real fix looks like

• Early elementary version (circle or draw)

• Upper elementary version

• Secondary version

• A quick half page version

How I'd use it:

Only use it when the student is calm, later that day or the next morning. Read it with them, ask one follow up question, and that is the whole meeting. Accept honest answers. "I was bored" tells you something useful.

Each version asks the same basic questions in age friendly language: what happened, what I was feeling or thinking, who got affected, and what I will do to fix it. The early elementary page lets kids circle or draw. The half page version is good for small stuff. Keep finished sheets as data. If the same thing keeps showing up, that is a pattern worth bringing to the team. Students who have done the fix see the adult differently afterward, and that matters more than the sheet.

Who it's for: Teachers, counselors, and administrators. Grades K 12.
