Personal Mentoring is a separate offer: direct, personal guidance as you put the process into practice, working on your own sector and your first real opportunity.

Places are by application. I review every submission and only accept where I believe there's a practical route to a first published story.

Choosing a sector that fits your knowledge and experience. Deciding what you can offer and identifying a first opportunity. Finding the person and the story behind an announcement. Reviewing your writing, finding a suitable publication and preparing the pitch. Reviewing what happens and deciding what to try next.

I'll stay with you through this until your first story is published. That's a commitment to keep working with you, not a guarantee of what any individual editor decides, no particular publication is promised.

Frequently Asked Questions

If I'm not happy with my purchase, can I get a refund?

You have the right to cancel within 14 days of payment, as long as mentoring hasn't started. Once we've had our first working session, that cancellation period ends, since you'll have agreed for the service to begin. If you're unhappy with how mentoring is going at any point after that, get in touch and we'll sort it.

How does the application work?

You fill in the form on this page. I read every application and only accept where I believe there's a practical route to a first published story. If accepted, I'll send you a link to pay, and we'll arrange our first session.

What if my first story doesn't get published?

We go back to it. We review the story, the angle, the publication and the pitch, decide what to change, and try again. I stay with you through this until you have a published result.

Do I need to buy the Freelance PR & Business Writing Pack first?

No. Personal Mentoring is a separate offer and includes the Pack, so you don't need to buy it separately beforehand.
