ANALYSIS OF HEAVY METAL CONTAMINANTS AND CONSTITUENTS OF SOME SOFT DRINKS AND JUICES SOLD IN ENUGU STATE

This research investigates the presence and concentration of heavy metal contaminants and chemical constituents in selected soft drinks and fruit juices available in Enugu State. It aims to evaluate the safety and quality of these beverages in relation to public health standards set by regulatory bodies such as NAFDAC and WHO. Laboratory analyses are conducted to detect metals like lead (Pb), cadmium (Cd), zinc (Zn), copper (Cu), and iron (Fe), alongside other chemical parameters that determine product safety and nutritional value.
