The shawl begins with a narrow strip of stockinette stitch, which forms the faux i-cord border and continues along the edge of the shawl. The shawl is worked from the top down with stitches increased at the beginning and end of each row, and in the center panel, to form the crescent shape.

It is possible to knit this shawl at a different gauge but it will affect the size, drape, and amount of yarn used. Please plan accordingly.
