Storm Clouds features a textural lace pattern and delicate picot bind-off. The shawl grows rapidly in width to create a long and narrow crescent shape that can be worn in many different ways, and the bold lace pattern is well suited to gradient or semi-solid yarns. The pattern includes both written directions and charts.

This shawl begins with a provisionally cast-on ribbed band which continues into the side edges of the shawl. The crescent shape is formed by increasing at the beginning and end of every row. A yarn over increase is used on wrong side rows and a double increase (knit 1, yarn over, knit 1) is worked into the yarn over on right side rows. A picot bind-off finishes the shawl.

The pattern is written to end with a full repeat of the lace pattern, but you can work the picot bind-off whenever you decide the shawl is large enough, or when you are nearly out of yarn.
