Know which welders are current, who's about to lapse and who needs requalifying before the next job, without digging through a folder of tickets.
What's inside
- WPS Register: WPS number, revision, process, how it was qualified (prequalified, prior experience or by test), PQR reference, material, thickness, positions, consumable, gas, preheat and approval. Counts the welders currently qualified to each WPS and flags missing approvals, missing PQRs and WPSs with no current welder.
- Welder Qualifications: one row per welder per ticket, with standard (AS/NZS 1554.1, 1554.6, 2980, ISO 9606-1, AS 3992), certificate, process, WPS, positions, thickness and test date. Works out last verified use, continuity due, next due, days left and a red / amber / green status. A hard expiry or revalidation date wins if it's sooner.
- Continuity Log: each checked production weld, with job, WPS, result, report ref and who verified it. Only acceptable, verified welds keep a welder current, and the log feeds the register automatically.
- Welder x WPS Matrix: pick who can weld a job at a glance (OK, DUE, LAPSED, CHECK).
- Summary: current, due soon, lapsed and incomplete records on one page.
- BLANK + EXAMPLE files (a made-up fab shop), an Instructions tab and a quick-start PDF.
Good to know
- Excel and Google Sheets. No macros, works offline. Prints A4.
- 100 WPSs, 200 qualification rows, 500 continuity entries, a 40-welder x 20-WPS matrix.
- The continuity period is a setting (6 months by default), so you can match the standard or contract you work to.
- It's a spreadsheet, so it doesn't send reminders.
- A record-keeping aid only. It doesn't qualify, test or certify any welder or procedure, and it isn't a copy of any Standard.
