Chapter 101: Game of War

Upon her return to the Mahali Maovu witches’ quarters, Aurora greeted Electra. The sun was barely rising from the dark night. “Were you successful?” questioned Aurora.

“The deed is done. I gave my blood offering and chanted the spell.” Electra retorted.

“Why so glum? It’s as if your whole entire demeanor has shifted.”

“I’m just tired I suppose.”

“Electra,” Aurora stated as she touched her chin to lift her head, “What happened exactly?”

Electra lifted her head to meet her eyes with Aurora’s. “You really don’t know? Or do you just want me to give you all of the gory details to appease you in your vengeance against me?”

Aurora was taken aback, “I don’t seek vengeance, I didn’t send you because I sought vengeance, the whole ordeal with the orcs is no big deal compared to what is to come with this war. I merely wanted you to get your head in the game. Whatever it is you saw or experienced, -real or imagined, just know -it’s no more than a forethought or false premonition. We have the power to change our destiny.”

“So, you mean to tell me everything I saw and even felt wasn’t real, it was just imaginary? -All the death and horror and powerlessness…”

“Yes, my dear. And the beast you fought off, -the demon should illustrate the fact. You used your mind against him before he could overtake it, and what ever visions you may have seen, they too can be eradicated with your beliefs and the power you possess over your mind.”

“I saw my own death Aurora.”

“I know, but it doesn’t have to be. We can always alter the future. Now that you have seen it, you will know how to avoid it. Awareness is half the battle.”

“I don’t get what you mean.”

“In due time and when the time comes, you will Electra, but don’t give that premonition power over your life, do not trust in what you saw or felt, it is illusionary.”

Electra paused to take in all Aurora said as she walked back to camp. She truly didn’t know what to make of it, but the jokester in her was quickly withering away and her head was finally in the game, of the war to come…
