New Standard Tuning: A Player's Guide

New Standard Tuning is Robert Fripp's: fifths across the bottom five strings, and a minor 3rd on top. It has a wider range than standard tuning, and chords come out spread and orchestral instead of tight.

The guide covers the strings you'll need, because a standard set won't survive it. It then covers where the roots are, the spread triad, tenths, one-finger sus2 chords, and why the top string breaks the pattern. There are 18 movable shapes, 12 full-neck chord maps and 8 scale maps, plus three phrases in tab.

It's a tuning for players who want to start again, not for adding colour to what you already play. The guide is written for the first group.
