SPRING FESTIVAL SHAWL A quick and varied knit, resulting in a light wee neckerchief to keep the spring chill at bay. Buds, leaves and burgeoning blossoms to remind you that warmer times are on their way.
Materials 3 x 25g (105m/115yds) balls Jamieson’s Shetland Spindrift. The shawl takes approx 310m/340yds of light fingering or fingering weight yarn. Have an extra ball ready just in case!
4mm/US 6 80cm/32” circular needle (or longer)
crochet hook and/or waste yarn for provisional cast-on (depending on your preferred method)
a small amount of waste yarn for provisional cast-on
stitch markers, 4
larger needle for casting off
Gauge 18 sts and 32 rows per 10cm/ 5 sts and 8 rows per inch (approx.) measured over blocked stocking stitch.
Dimensions Height: 40cm/16” approx. Width along top edge: 114cm/45” approx. Note when blocking that the top edge sweeps upwards at the widest points.
