Salishan Cowl contrasts a structured edging with a graceful and airy lace pattern.  Appropriate for beginning to more advanced lace knitters, this cowl is elegant yet surprisingly easy for lace.

Skills Needed:  Working in the round; yarn overs; knitting two stitches together, ssk.

Size:  Small (Medium, Large)

Width: 6 ½ (7 ¼, 10 ¼) in. [16.5 (18.4, 26.0) cm].

Circumference:  32 (42 ¾, 48) in. [81.3 (108.6, 121.9) cm].  

Yarn: 1 (1, 2) skeins Shibui Lunar (Lace; 60% Extra Fine Merino Wool, 40% Mulberry Silk;

401 yards/50 grams) in Pollen and 1 (1, 2) skeins Shibui Silk Cloud (Lace; 60% Kid Mohair, 40% Silk; 330 yards/25 grams) in Pollen.  Hold one strand of each of the two yarns together and knit them as one throughout the entire piece.

If substituting yarn, use DK weight held singly.  You will need 150 (300, 450) yards [137.2 (274.3, 411.5) meters].

Needles:
Circular needles:  1 set US size 7 [4.5 mm] - 24 (32, 47) in. [60 (80, 120) cm] length, or size needed to obtain gauge. 

Gauge after blocking:  16.5 sts and 30 rows = 4" [10 cm] in charted pattern stitch on smaller needles.  

Other Materials:  Stitch markers, tapestry needle, blocking mat and T-pins.
